A combination of factors makes network security especially tricky in the education sector. In higher education, IT staff support the equivalent of a medium-sized city, populated by a diverse set of users and devices, often spread over a large geographic area. Local school districts often face similar issues, making do with restrained budgets and stretched staff.
E-rate Program
The Schools and Libraries (E-rate) Program provides funding towards eligible services for schools and libraries that include internet access, telecommunications services, and related equipment. All public or private schools (K-12), libraries, and groups of schools and libraries (e.g., consortia, districts, systems) can apply for discounts on eligible services.
